Marigaux Byrne
attended the 1986 season of the Music Academy of the West in Santa
Barbara, California. At the start of the session, he was approximately
six weeks old, making him the youngest ever to attend the Academy.
Although he majored in cafeteria sitting, he was often found in
the company of double reed players and took an immediate interest
in reed making. Cane batting and string tangling came naturally
to him.
At the close of the season, he was adopted by fellow Academy member, Michael K. Byrne, currently principal oboe of the Victoria Symphony, Victoria, B.C. Canada.
Marigaux now resides at the Byrne family home in La Canada, California.
His hobby is reed making.
