Oboe  Competition of Karuizawa, Japan in this October.  The Competition has

Chicago  Symphony Orchestra, Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw, Berlin Deutsche
Opera Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre [...]]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Sony Music Foundation is hosting the 9th International<br />
Oboe  Competition of Karuizawa, Japan in this October.  The Competition has<br />
been held triennially since 1985, and to date, the prize winners have taken<br />
the  position of the principal oboist of such world famous orchestra as the<br />
Chicago  Symphony Orchestra, Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw, Berlin Deutsche<br />
Opera Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France,<br />
Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, to name a few.</p>
<p>Today,  we are happy to inform you that upon the preliminary screening, the<br />
participants  to  go  on  to  the First Stage have been selected.  Talented<br />
young  oboists  will  be  gathered  from  all over the world to the town of<br />
Karuizawa  to  compete  in this fall.  On October 17, a concert by the jury<br />
members  is scheduled where one could witness and listen to the world class<br />
performance.</p>
<p>We  appreciate your kind cooperation in informing about this Competition to<br />
your  friends,  oboists,  teachers,  and  students who may be interested in<br />
learning  about  it  and  possibly in its participation in the future.  You<br />
