Soon after Christmas you will be receiving the annual dues notices. Please remember that regardless of the date of your first joining the Society, our fiscal year is still the calendar year of January I to December 31. You should have received ALL issues of the year you first joined and everyone's dues go from the beginning to the end of a year. If you have any questions, please ask. BUT please send in your 1988 dues upon receipt of the notice. One of our problems is trying to guesstimate the number of members we'll have in September. You can help this by paying your dues early in the year.
Why not become a Contributing Member in 1988? Besides the satisfaction of knowing your money is supporting the goals of the Society, you will benefit from receiving your publications via first class mail, and will have your name published in each issue as a contributor.
This is also the time to find new members. Unless you're really in the boondocks most of you know another player who is NOT a member of the Society. Make a special effort to recruit them. Give a membership to friends or students as birthday presents or whatever. Send me their names and addresses and I'll try to recruit them. If everyone really hustled we could easily double our membership this year.
Please take a look at our "Lost Sheep" and see if you can help. You may be the one who saves some lost soul from oblivion!
