A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF OBOE DUETS

Jan De Maeyer

Editor's Note: Jan De Maeyer, professor of oboe at the Conservatory of Antwerp and formerly soloist at the "Philharmonie van Antwerp" appeared in Edinburgh along with Louis Gilis, Martine Loubry-Buyens, and Luc Loubry.

This comprehensive bibliography nevertheless can't be exhaustive for many reasons. The duets published in Tutors, Studies, Methods or other works appropriated for instruction aren't inserted. So please do realize that several valuable works aren't forgotten but consciously left out.

For the baroque period a lot of duets exist that fit very well for two oboes, but are edited for two recorders, two violins, two musettes etc. Consequently this list could be much more extensive.

It is extremely difficult to make up a solid bibliography since publishers don't take care of a complete list of works they've printed or even worse don't place such a list at the disposal of the musicians.

Thus a supplement to this bibliography soon will be necessary.

1. Baroque And Preclassical Duets For Two Oboes.

2. Classical And Romantic Duets For Two Oboes.

3. 20th Century Duets For 2 Oboes.

4. Collections Of Duets For 2 Oboes.

5. Duets For Oboe And English Horn Or Two English Horns.
