Program included the Marcello E minor Sonata, the Danzi Quartet Op. 40, #3 in Bb for bassoon and string trio, the David Concertino in Bb Major Op. 12, and his own arrangement of the Johannes Brahms Sextet in Bb major, Op. 18, arranged for double wind quintet.

Principal Bassoon, Cincinnati Symphony, substituting for ailing Sol Schoenbach, in Bay Chamber Concerts, Rockport, Maine, last August with John de Lancie, oboe, and Vladimir Sokaloff, piano. Program included the Quantz Trio Sonata, Op. 46; Duo for oboe and bassoon by de Groot, Six French Songs of the 15th Century by Willard Elliot (solo bassoon with the Chicago Symphony); and the Poulenc Trio.
Chairman and Bassoonist, California State, Fresno. First performance of Concerto for Bassoon and Wind Orchestra by Jerome Sorcsek, a Los Angeles Composer, at the Western Collegiate Wind Festival, Fresno, last March 15, and second performance at the CMEA Convention in Bakersfield on April 12.
(John also mentions that the Presidents Quintet, a SCU student wind quintet, toured Taiwan, China, from May 17-27 and performed in five cities In 1982 they will tour mainland China performing seven concerts. The oboist is Sarah Moore and the bassoonist is Leslie Torchio. The trials of teaching as John writes: "I coach the group and, unfortunately as was the case in Taiwan, will suffer the inconvenience of accompanying them. "!)
Director Emeritus, Settlement Music School, Bassoon Faculty, Curtis Institute. With Rhadames Angelucci, Bernard Portnoy, Philip Farkas and four Eastman students performed the Mozart Serenade on a Symposium measuring "Physiologic and Pathologic Stress Factors in Musical Performance" at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. last April. All performers were wired to monitor their reactions to the stress of the performance. On the same program bassoonist Norman Herzberg spoke on "Observations on Factors Contributing to Performance Stresses in Recording for the Film Industry." (It is hoped that there will be a written report published from this symposium. Ed.)
