(On the cover: The beautiful painting of the bassoonist -- reed scraper on the front cover is of IDRS Treasurer, Richard Meek, by his wife, Carol. Besides being a bassoonist and mother, Carol Meek has studied pastel painting with Daniel Green and Albert Handell and she recently worked with Harvey Dinnerstein and David Leffel at the Art Students League in New York City. Her works are represented in the permanent collection of the West Texas Museum Association and in private collections in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Pennsylvania, and New York. Most recently she received the Prix de Paris -- Raymond Duncan during exhibition at the Musèe de Duncan, Paris.)
