First Bibliographical List by the Library Committee:
Double-Reed Literature Theses and Dissertations

The Library Committee has as one of its objectives the compilation of a comprehensive bibliography of music literature, and a discography of recordings of existing music for double-reed instruments (including solo as well as chamber music performances).

The collection of lists thus far includes periodical articles, books, and titles of master's theses and doctoral dissertations.

Due to space limitations, the Committee is offering for this first issue of the Journal a list of master's theses and doctoral dissertations pertaining to various aspects of knowledge concerning oboe and bassoon and related literature (regarding all woodwinds but may be applied specifically to oboe and bassoon).

The Committee is aware that this list is by no means complete, but it is inclusive of all titles brought to our attention to date. We implore the membership of IDRS to send in titles of scholarly works not listed herein to: Dr. Lawrence Intravaia, School of Music Southern Illinois, Carbondale, Illinois 62901.
