For President... William Winstead
Current President of I.D.R.S. Winstead is Professor of Bassoon
and Coordinator of Winds and Percussion at Florida State University.
He is a composer and harpist, with works premiered by both the
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Orchestras. He has served as interim
principal bassoonist of the Cincinnati Symphony both in 1985-86
and in 1986-87.
For Ist Vice President... Charles Veazey
Current 1st Vice President of I.D.R.S. Professor of oboe and Coordinator
of Woodwinds at North Texas State University. He was Chairman
of the Gillet competition for a number of years. He has held positions
with the San Antonio Symphony, West Texas State University and
Northern Michigan University. He is a member of the North Texas
Chamber Winds and a freelance player in the Ft. Worth-Dallas area.
He is currently engaged in research using fiberoptics as a tool
in woodwind pedagogy.
For 2nd Vice-President... William Waterhouse
Internationally known London bassoonist. Recently of the BBC Orchestra,
member of Melos Ensemble, recording artist, author of many learned
articles on bassoon, expert on the history of bassoons, their
literature, owner of an historic collection of bassoons. International
recitalist and lecturer, having appeared throughout the world,
and numerous times for I.D.R.S. conventions.
For Secretary... William Baker
Professor of Oboe at Ohio State University. Principal Oboist of
Columbus Pro Musica group, and Lyric Wind Quintet. Bill was host
of the 1978 I.D.R.S. convention. He served for 16 years as principal
oboist of the Columbus Symphony. He served two terms as Vice-President
of I.D.R.S.
