Report of the Executive Secretary/Treasurer

Lowry Riggins, Monroe, Louisiana

Dues are due! - As I write this in mid-June only about a third of the membership have paid their dues for 1989. One problem is that I DID NOT send out dues notices in December. "WHY?" you may ask. Well, we were right in the middle of counting the votes on the new dues structure so I didn't know WHAT amount to put in the notice. By the time we stopped counting in early February, it was too late! So I held off until Vol. 12, No. 1 in which I tried to call your attention to this problem.

Anyhow, included in that issue was a genuine, personal dues notice. IF you have NOT received a nice white 1989 membership card, then PLEASE send your dues in as quickly as possible. Don't leave me waiting at the mail box each day hoping to hear from you.

Serious - In other words, please do send in your dues as soon as possible. Next year I promise to return to sending out notices in late December or early January. And don't forget that the new dues structure is now official.

Visa and Mastercard - Quite a few of you are taking advantage of the VISA or MASTERCARD method of payment. Please do help me by printing the numbers very carefully! The use of these cards is being tried to see if enough members use this service to make it not be too expensive.

Members outside the U.S.A. - PLEASE let me know about the new mailing system. (see last issue) I have no way of knowing if something is working or not unless you tell me.

Lost Members - Please take the time to glance at the list of "poor lost sheep." I have some folks who have been lost since they paid their dues. If you happen to live near some lost sheep, why not try to look them up in the phone book and call them?

I hope to see many of you at the conference. It certainly looks exciting!
