We are pleased to bring you this fourth annual Journal of the International Double Reed Society. It includes articles of great and varied interest by leading figures in the world of double reed performance and pedagogy. The articles represent the opinion of the author. The editors solicit manuscripts on all phases of the double reed instruments and their literature; they can be sent to the addresses on the inside cover of this volume. Musical examples and photographs may be included and their use is encouraged.
We look forward to the continued participation of many members of the double reed fraternity, and to the opportunity of meeting with them in Toronto.
