Dorothy Scott Mayer

(1915 - 1992)

It is with sadness that the Society has learned of the death of Dorothy Scott Mayer, wife of Honorary Member Robert Mayer. Born in Jacksonville, Illinois, Mrs. Mayer was a pianist and accompanist in Chicago and St. Petersburg, Florida. Along with her husband, oboist Bob Mayer, she moved to St. Petersburg in 1976 from Wilmette, Illinois. Former students of Bob's will remember "Dotty" for her warmness and love as well as for her ability to step in as an accompanist. Condolences may be sent to Robert M.
