Artemus Edwards - bassoonist-teacher, Albuquerque, New Mexico. As guest bassoon lecturer, Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. 6/71. Mozart Sonata for Bassoon and Cello, K.292, with Gary Karr, noted bass virtuoso playing cello part in correct octave (Bazelaire version). Rave review.

William Jones - Univ. of Wisconsin (Madison, Wis.). 11/ 71. Randall Snyder Concerto for Bassoon, winds, strings and percussion (1971).

Valentine Kennedy - Contra, London Philharmonic. 1/72. Ruth Gipps "Leviathan" solo for contra and orchestra, written expressly for Mr. Kennedy. Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, with the Chanticleer Orchestra.

Chicago Symphony Bassoon Section - Willard Elliot, John Raitt, Wilbur Simpson and Burl Lane. 6/72. Karl-Heinz Koper Concerto for Bassoon Quartet and Orchestra. A very excellent work. Milan Turkovic - Vienna, Austria bassoonist, guest lecturer at Indiana University. 11/72. Chamber concert with Otto Eiffert, Principal Bassoonist, and other members of the Cincinnati Orchestra woodwind section. Beethoven Sextet, Op. 71 and Mozart Serenade in E-Flat K. 375. 12/ 71. Recital with Ray Still, solo oboe of the Chicago Symphony, at Northwestern University. Bassoon works included Telemann Sonata in F. Hindemith Sonata and Poulenc Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano (Lawrence Davis). "Outstanding performance": Alan Stout, Northwestern Univ. composer-in-residence.
