High School Bassoonists - One of the finest summer music camps in the world, the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan, was in need of applications this spring from outstanding high school bassoonists. The announcement was sent to all bassoonist members of IDRS, and I understand that the problem is solved for summer 1976. But as a former NMC camper myself, I would like to urge young bassoonists who are serious about a career in music to make an early application to Interlochen for summer 1977. Write to Mary Frances James, National Music Camp, Interlochen, Michigan 49643.
Boehm Bassoon Research - Ronald Klimko, University of Idaho bassoon professor and author of the study, "Bassoon Performance Practices and Teaching in the U.S. and Canada," would like any persons having information about Boehm-system or Boehm-fingered bassoons to contact him in the near future about this subject. Between January and May, 1977 Dr. Klimko will be on sabbatical leave in Europe "to do in depth research for a book on the Boehm system bassoon." Write: School of Music, Moscow, Idaho 83843.
