Former pupils of Maurice Allard at the Paris Conservatory - Kiyoshi Koyama, who has been solo bassoonist of the Orchestra Solisti di Veneti in Padua, has returned to freelance performance in Paris (Buffet bassoon). Anyone possessing the five Vivaldi Concerti recording made by Maurice Allard with this orchestra can hear Kiyoshi's lovely playing as continuo bassoon in several of the concerti.
Michio Wakabayashi, who has been second bassoonist of the Edmonton, Canada, Symphony will be the new solo bassoonist of the I Solisti de Veneti Orchestra in Padua (Michio also plays Buffet bassoon and was a class-mate of Kiyoshi Koyami in Paris.)
