3/77. On two different recital programs: Francaix Divertissement for Bassoon and String Quintet, A. Roussel Duo for Bassoon and Bass (Bob Rohe, bass), and Deborah Cost I and the Electrician for Bassoon, 2 contact mikes and 2 guitar amplifiers (with operators). Crawford says of the Cost piece, ". . . has been submitted to the IDRS for its annual composition contest. It's about 4-5 minutes long, contains quarter tones and multiphonics and is really excellent."
Charles Holdeman -- Bassoonist of the now-dispersed Satori Woodwind Quintet of the University of Delaware (budget cutbacks). Charles is studying in Paris this winter with Maurice Allard .
3/77. "an original solo bassoon composition {Holdeman), music for "Lean-to," a choreographic premiere by Julie Fraad and danced by her and her husband Ed Higgins." Holdeman created his music from the choreography and also contributed a 2-minute dance solo of his own during this piece (unaccompanied).
