The winners of the 1977 IDRS Composition Contest were announced just in time to be included in this issue of TTWO. They are:

• for oboe--Alchemy, Opus 60 by George Heussenstamm of La Crescenta, California
• honorable mention in this category: Oboe Variations by Steven Cohen of Little Neck, New York.

Judges were Catherine Paulu and Marc Fink, both of Madison, Wisconsin.

Winner in the duo for oboe and bassoon category is:

• Glyphs by Randall Snyder of Lincoln, Nebraska, and
• winner in the bassoon category is Kaddish by Vivian A. Rudow of Baltimore, Maryland.

Judges for these categories were Richard Boerlin of West Chester, Pennsylvania and his composer colleagues there--Dr. Shirley Munger and Dr. Larry Nelson.

We look forward to performances of these works at the Evansville convention.
