Paul Tucci, former Principal Bassoon of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, passed away on Tuesday, March 9th, at the age of fifty. Paul was born in Syracuse, New York, and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Yale University School of Music. At Yale he was a ston. Vitally interested in improving the bassoon, he worked diligently on improving reeds and the tuning of the instrument. He was also an advisor to the Fox Corporation.

Paul is affectionately remembered by his colleagues for his rich musical gifts and for his warm and sympathetic nature. Bernard Garfield put it quite succinctly-"Paul had the gift of good nature." Paul Tucci will be missed by those who knew and appreciated him.
