With this issue of the IDRS Journal we have begun using the services of Falls Printing Company, Idaho Falls, Idaho, for the first time. Prior to contracting for us, Falls Printing has already distinguished itself as the printer of The Clarinet magazine for the International Clarinet Society, so it brings excellent experience and expertise to our task. The reason for changing to them from Aldingers Printing in Lansing, Michigan, is twofold. First of all, we have never been able to obtain bulk mailing status as a non-profit organization, our just due, in the Post Office district near Lansing. We already have this status in other postal districts such as Lubbock, Texas, and now Idaho Falls. Secondly, Aldingers, while being friendly and competent in their work with us, have nevertheless, a tendency to put IDRS on the "backburner" whenever they get busy. Frankly, we editors are tired of being blamed for the publication's coming out later than hoped -- especially when Aldingers has had our copy well in advance. Recognizing that we are probably not their most lucrative customer does not alter the fact that we feel that IDRS deserves better treatment from them. Falls Printing has promised us that if we meet our deadlines they will meet theirs, so now you'll know who to blame! Working with Aldingers, however, has been a pleasurable experience for both of us, and we sincerely thank them, (especially Marge Baier), for all their patience and kind assistance to us in the past.
There will probably be some minor changes as a result of our new collaboration --change of paper, etc., but we editors are resolved to maintain the four annual publications in their present size and format, and to strive for the highest quality of workmanship we can achieve.
To do this we continue to need your help. You are the IDRS and it is your endeavors, your performances, your ideas, and your research that we want to record and disseminate. We'll both be at Tallahassee and welcome your ideas, suggestions, and support.
