Topic: Minibassoons

For about a half a year now I have been using a Wolf quart minibassoon as a teaching tool for a (tiny) 10-year-old fifth grader.  So far, she's doing very well (low C to high F [pitched as low F to high Bb]; C, G, D, F and Bb scales).  But I have just had an inquiry about teaching a much younger child on the instrument.  I believe that even the quart minibassoon would be too large and cumbersome for a very young (and small) child.  Is any one using a >QUINT< instrument with very young children (particularly in the Colorado Front-range area)?  Thanks!  Harvey Fleet
