Topic: Micrometer no longer lays at 0

Hi all,

I've been using a HDR micrometer (the Ferrillo design) for the past year.  Yesterday I noticed that the needle no longer points to 0 but is now resting around 15/20.  Has anyone had this happen to theirs? I've never knocked it over or dropped it, so I'm not sure what could be the cause of this.  I've cleaned it as best I could to make sure there was no cane stuck anywhere.  Any thoughts/comments are much appreciated!

You can usually turn the face of a micrometer so that wherever the needle is pointing is 0. Does yours not have this feature?
