Topic: Vintage English Horn fingering system

I am looking for information on the fingering system for this instrument.  It also has two different sized bocals playing in two keys.  The label says Gherardi Ferrara.  It is in good working order except for a botched repair on the upper joint which is reparable.

Thanks

Re: Vintage English Horn fingering system

Is this a thumbplate English horn? I know what a thumbplate oboe looks like, but I haven't seen a pic of how it's done for EH.

Can't tell 100% from this angle alone, but my guess would be this is a Bb key.  You can check if that's correct.

Many old German oboes have this Bb arrangement.

oboe (French, Viennese, baroque), bassoon (German, French, baroque), shawm, dulcian
