Topic: Laubin Oboe Regulation/Tuning

I have a Laubin oboe (which I love!) that has good intonation execpt for two problems:the first-finger B, and the regular F are about 10 cents flat in both octaves.  Is this something that could either be fixed or mitigated by repair?  If so, does anyone know of a great oboe repair person that I could trust to do this for me?

Thanks.

Those are problems which should be easily cured by a competent oboe repairer, either by adjusting pads opening heights or adjusting the size of the tone holes.

I agree that sending it back to Laubin is the ideal solution.  I bought a used Laubin last Fall that needed minimum adjustments.  They were quick, effective, and very fair with repair costs.  Be sure you tell them exactly what your concern is and what you hope they will accomplish.  They will be totally up front with you with opinions and cost estimates.
