This forum will really improve communication among the members of the IDRS. We will be able to talk more openly with each other in a more selective environment. The days of posting a message knowing that EVERYONE will be reading- and judging- will be over, as only those who are really interested in the topic of the thread will be reading the messages. The IDRS-l is currently a victim of it's own success, dumping too much email in list member's mailboxes daily, or in the digest form, being too long to scroll through daily. Gone will be the days of having each reply contain the entire digest. Gone will be the petty quarrels about syntax and spelling, in it's place will be a truly open forum of ideas. Best of all, the threads will be archived so it will be possible to have a topic last longer than a day or so. Bring on the Games! Thanks, Yoshi!!!

I certainly have to agree with Paul's comments on improving communication. This forum was a really great idea!
I look forward to seeing who else signs on and posts.

This is excellent follow-through Yoshi. Thanks for setting this up. Following the beta-test month, I imagine there will be even more good work here.

Wow! Great! Congratulations and Thank You!
Among the other great features of this forum, it's great to put faces with names (for those who have posted their picture as their avatar!)
thank you very much for this Forum! It looks very nice and I will enjoy it as I enjoy the list as well!
What a great possibility to exchange thoughts between the continents!

A great idea, and another BIG benefit to IDRS membership.
Whew ... I'm in!
Thank you so much, Yoshi, for helping me out with my password, and, especially, for putting this together. Bravo!
I just want to add to all of the accolades. This is a nice forum. I've already learned a few things. Thank you.

Congratulations on the new forum. This is a tremendous improvement over the e-mail method.
I look forward to posting here.
Well...I am going try to learn this new technology....because I am usually just a lurker...I have found many peices of very useful information for my career on the IDRS listserv over the years.
I hope the forum succeeds!
all the best
It was nerve wracking at first to find my way through the ins & outs of the Forum, but I am enjoying the flexibility of it. The comeraderie is great, and so far it seems that more people are actually posting replies. It will also be interesting to see how the chat room develops. Thanks to everyone who had the vision and technical knowledge to make it happen.
YOSHI et ALL,
It's just *WONDERFUL* seeing all the positive feedback on our new FORUM. Really good Karma here! ;-)
*Note: Yesterday, Yoshi registered with a password my Sponsored IDRS Cuban student who speaks no Engish and I no Spanish. I can't wait for Lauren to be able to log into the FORUM. I know a whole new world will open to her. Maybe you can do this for YOUR sponsored student.
This great TRANSLATION site - for emails and even a phone call has been indespensible to us! www.freetranslation.com
Great work. Thanks
