Topic: Page Turning Gadget for Outdoor Concerts
I'm sure all of you have had to play an outdoor concert at one time and found it difficult to quickly turn pages especially if it was necessary to use wind clips. Let's say you have an outdoor concert and you have a multiple page score with (at the most) 5 measures (in 2/4) of rest in any given spot. It's windy and it's necessary to anchor the music down somehow and you don't have an assistant to turn pages for you. Has anybody seen or tried any nifty inventions for this situation? The ideal invention would be cheap, portable, and operated by one hand (or foot!) so you don't have to put your instrument down. I've seen those computer screens for page turns but alas, my money is already spent on cane. So far, the see-through wind clips are the best solutions I've seen.
How about a contraption that attaches to the music stand that works like a piano scroll... using one hand, just turn the handle and the next set of pages come into view? Anyone seen anything like this for sale?
Please send in your suggestions. Thanks!
