Topic: MP3 library?

Would this forum be a good place for a members' MP3 library, or is there one already on the IDRS website? I'm suggesting a place for people to post recital performances and the like, not a place for (illegal) file swapping. roll

Re: MP3 library?

I can sort of answer my own question- just found http://www.idrs.org/MP3/IDRS.MP3.html on the IDRS website. But what about a place for people to post performances on their own? The 'official' website does not make it clear how to get your recording on to the site.

With the advent of this forum, the IDRS is going to have to decide (using computer cyberworld terms) whether to take the corporate (controlled) approach or the open-source (free) approach. I personally prefer the open source model, as that is how real exchange of information occurs...

Hope this forum thing takes off.

Re: MP3 library?

Possibly, but currently there is a limit on storage space. Additional storage space will cost money. big_smile

Re: MP3 library?

Ummm- could we use our own server and pay these folks for software services? Memory is pretty cheap these days. (Computer memory that is- my memory's pretty scarce these days so it's valuable)
hmm

Re: MP3 library?

Yeah this is a good idea with mp3 library, but as Yoshi says, this cost money. On my sites I have many mp3´s connected to a server in USA, I pay about  220$ pro year, but I think it is worth it.
