Topic: Ear Tubes

What experiences or first hand knowledge does anyone have with playing and hearing with ear tubes in?

Re: Ear Tubes

I have had chronic ear infections all of my life. I am now 29 and am still getting them. I have had them since I was 4 years old. I have had 8 sets of tubes over the years and never had any problems playing oboe or English horn (or saxophone for that matter, back in my pre-oboe days) with tubes in my ears. The only thing I would reccommend is to wait a few days after the tubes have been put in to actually start playing, and even then, do it gradually just to give the tubes time to set.
