Topic: Ferrillo gouging machines

I've started hearing more about these, and so I'd like to find out a little more about them.
Who is using them?
What do you like about them?
Where are you getting them?  Are you buying them directly from John Ferrillo or is someone else selling them?
Thanks so much!

Re: Ferrillo gouging machines

I just bought an English horn machine and put my own blade in it. It is a very well-made machine! It is basically a Graf without an eccentric bearing. It has all of the familiar adjustments of the Graf, but is much more carefully made. The base is black anodized aluminum, the steel rod that the carriage rides on is thicker and the bed and carriage are made out of brass. One difference that is a great addition is a "plate" on the rod side that you adjust with a screw to move the blade from side to side. Once you have it where you want it, you can set it and then it allows you to take the blade out sharpen it and get it back into place easily.
