Topic: Bassoon Day at McGill - November 8, 2008

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 7th annual Bassoon Day at McGill. The events will take place on Saturday November 8, 2008 in the Strathcona Music Building and the New Music Building at McGill University in downtown Montreal.

This year’s Bassoon Day events will include exhibits of instruments and accessories by bassoon makers Fox Products Corporation from the USA and Benson H. Bell from Canada, as well as Montréal woodwind specialist Pascal Véraquin; master classes by our special guest Sue Heineman of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C., and Martin Mangrum of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra; and a bassoon concert featuring Sue Heineman and friends from the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, as well as the annual Bassoon Ensemble Finale where we hope to have more than 40 bassoonists on stage, so make sure to bring your bassoon!

The schedule of events is as follows:
9am - 2pm: exhibits
10:30am - 12pm: master class with Marty Mangrum
12:30 - 1pm: rehearsal for Bassoon Ensemble
2 - 4pm: master class with Sue Heineman
5pm: Bassoon Day concert!

Admission is free and no registration is required for any of the events. Hope to see you in Montreal next month!
