Topic: Help with MIDI files

I'm hoping someone can help me with down loading some MIDI files off of the IDRS site.  When I click on the link in the index all I get is a screen with a bunch of giberish, which i'm sure is computer data that just isn't being translated.  I have a good computer, so I'm assuming  I have the programs needed for the music, but maybe not?  Is there a specific software I need to read these files?  All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Help with MIDI files

Try right clicking the midi link and choosing "save as" or "save target as" to save to your computer. Some browsers like firefox, when not set up correctly will open files as text, but you should be able to right click and save.

If you're on a mac, you may need identify the file as a midi file. See here on how:

You'll have to download a free program called resedit which will let you make the midi file... a midi file. It's in a link on the left most side under "Figure 2" in that above link.

Hope that helps.
