Topic: Kristen Wolfe Jensen's masterclass at the Mannes School (NYC)

Just went to Kristen's masterclass at Mannes - really quite good - I stayed the whole 3 hours! She had very insightful, good things to say to each student - particularly concerning breathing, support and the art of practicing. UT kids are lucky to have her! (Too bad it was a sparse crowd, but included Jane Taylor and Kim Laskowski.) Stay warm - Jim

Was there a bassoon day at Mannes as well?

So far, I've not seen anything scheduled - perhaps in the Spring? I only received an e-mail this morning from Gili Sharett, informing me of Kristen's class.

I saw her give a masterclass at Oberlin College for the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and she's great!! Not to mention she has a great website that is perfect for any beginner or public school teacher who is teaching bassoon to a student. UT is definitely a "hidden gem" for bassoon and is lucky to have her.
