Mark,

Both are good machines. However, the Rieger offers the advantage of a scribing blade that marks the center line of the blank and another that defines the ledge. To my mind this gives the Rieger a significant advantage in spite of the higher cost. The Rieger is also very easy to adjust.

Gene,

You are talking about the Rieger Profiler.   Mark asked about the TIP Profiler.
I have a Rieger Tip Profiler and it works great.  Have not tried the "Reeds 'n Stuff" machines.

Yep...my bad. It was late and I read "profiler" instead of tip profiler. I have a couple of Rieger tip profilers and they are great machines. Don't know how anyone can survive the reed wars without one. Like Mark I have not tried the Reeds n Stuff tip profiler. The only tool of Udo's that I have is his bassoon cane Guillotine, which is very nicely made.
