Topic: Glotin Cane

I've heard that Glotin stopped selling tube cane and now only sells gouged cane.  Does anybody know for certain if this is true?  Does anyone know what kind of gouger they use?

Cheers,
Drew

Contact Glotin. Their website is here: http://www.glotin.fr/

I can't read French, but perhaps the website says something about this.

Re: Glotin Cane

I just purchased some beautiful Glotin tubes from forrestsmusic.com. They were back-ordered and came in after a few weeks.

Re: Glotin Cane

Hasn't Glotin sold their bassoon and oboe cane business to Neuranter?

Re: Glotin Cane

Steve,

Neuranter is one of my favorite canes, despite the fact that their tubes are very irregular. But almost no one supplies it--only Miller Marketing--and nobody currently supplies it in larger, 10.5-11mm, diameters. I find this situation strange because the cane is excellent and well-known. Any ideas about this?

Re: Glotin Cane

Don't know much more about it.  The oboist in my Quintet is the North Amercian Product Manager for Rico and he had pretty good info that Glotin had sold there bassoon and oboe cane plantations. I might have assumed it was Neuranter since the  2 plantations were next to each other.

I also have had some good luck with Neuranter can from Justin.
