Topic: Popkin Bassoon Profiler

I recently picked up an old Popkin Profiler from a retired friend.  This one is old enough that it doesn't have the shoulder scriber, nor does it have the serial number that Mark used to identify when the machine was made.  It has the original curved ramp template.  Does anyone know who I might contact about getting a shoulder scriber installed on this profiler?  I contacted Amber Ferenz, and she checked with Jim Poe, and they don't have an answer.

Thanks

Re: Popkin Bassoon Profiler

Hi this is an old post but seems no one answered it.  I scribe the cane using the profiler blade then I run across it with a razor blade by hand.  Works well once you get the right depth.

Re: Popkin Bassoon Profiler

Update..I found the Machinist who made Mark's Profilers, at least the latter ones.  He installed a shoulder scriber on my machine and refused to charge me anything for it.  He does have a few Profilers that are nearly finished, and would finish them and sell them for a good price.  Let me know if you might be interested.
