Topic: Symphony orchestra survival...

The Wall Street Journal has an interesting article on the current classical orchestral scene - what seems to not work and what (education?) could possibly help - stating that 74% of most ticket-buyers either played an instrument at some point, or sang in a choir.  Check it out:
