Topic: Interlochen Arts Academy- vacancies for oboe class

The Interlochen Arts Academy, the country's premiere boarding school in the arts, located at Interlochen, Michigan, anticipates vacancies in its oboe class for the 2007-2008 school year.  Advanced high-school aged oboists are invited to explore opportunities for further musical study, along with intensive college-preparatory level academics.  Oboe students perform in regular band, orchestra, and chamber music concerts and participate in weekly studio classes and the yearly concerto competition.  Guest artists present masterclasses on a regular basis.  The school owns several state-of-the-art gouging machines and other reedmaking equipment.  Interlochen oboist graduates go on to study in the country's leading conservatories, universities, and summer festivals, and many of them are now playing in important professional orchestras.  For further information, or to arrange a visit to the campus, please visit the Interlochen website....  or contact admissions and financial aid counselor Lois Kowalsky at: or oboe instructor Dan Stolper at:
