Topic: Avatar help

I am trying to change my Avatar pic on the IDRS Forum.  I can't seem to do it.

I get as far as saving the pic in a folder and when I type the numbers in on the Forum website where we change our avatar, nothing downloads and nothing changes.

OR - this message appears no matter HOW small I make the pic:  " The selected file was too large to upload. The server didn't allow the upload."

I'm stumped!  Help!

Re: Avatar help

Hi Marsha,

I changed my avatar and didn't have those error messages.  I reduced the picture to 60 x 59 px and saved it as a jpg image on my computer.  Not sure what you meant by typing in the numbers or downloading.   Are you changing your avatar through some other method than clicking on the "Profile" menu and then select "Personality"?  Hopefully the experts online can help.  Good luck!

Re: Avatar help

Well, I can't figure out how to make the size of my pics smaller and I'm sure it's too complicated to explain here.  I tried several ways but the computer keeps outsmarting me.  Oh, well ...... on to more important things in life!  LOL
Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Re: Avatar help

Hi Marsha:
I wonder if this would help you resize a picture.  http://www.shrinkpictures.com/  I haven't used it but you might try it.  I have Windows XP and use this http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/learnmore/tips/eschelman2.mspx   all the time.  I suppose any photo editing program would do it too.  Good luck.
