Brooklyn College, Conservatory of Music
Assistant Professor in Music Performance
(Woodwinds, in one of these areas: flute, clarinet, oboe, or bassoon)

The Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College invites outstanding performers in woodwinds to apply for this music performance position.

Responsibilities. Primary responsibilities will be to teach, recruit, and maintain an undergraduate and graduate instrumental studio, coach chamber ensembles, lead woodwind and orchestral literature classes, and other performance-related seminars (e.g., 21st-century performance practices or woodwind methods class for music-education majors). Additional responsibilities will include coordinating the department’s woodwind program, and advising. Supplementary teaching assignments will be based upon the special skills and interests of the candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active performing career.

Qualifications. Master’s in woodwind performance (minimum), D.M.A. preferred. Outstanding artistic performance record as soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician. Evidence of teaching excellence, including ability to work in a culturally diverse, urban setting.

Commensurate with experience and credentials.
