Position Overview
The IDRS executive board is seeking a Communications Coordinator who would handle communications and public relations for the International Double Reed Society (IDRS) through marketing and the production of promotional materials for the society. Responsibilities include managing the society’s social media properties (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and creation and implementation of a regular newsletter.

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES

Marketing
Implement a communications plan for IDRS. Plan and coordinate production of all IDRS marketing materials (print, online, etc.). Assist conference hosts with event promotion for IDRS conferences and competitions. Initiate and cultivate relationships and partnerships with media, arts organizations, and others. Maintain communications budget and report on budget to the President of the IDRS.

Website
Assist with content for IDRS website, including new content, regular updates from editors, and special project development as needed. Coordinate with the IDRS on-line editor as needed for website content related items.

Social Media
Manage content and track engagement for all IDRS social media properties (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Identify and engage key audiences to promote IDRS resources, services, events, etc. Refine and implement social media best practices for strategic communications. Analyze and report on the effectiveness of social media efforts and return on investment.

Content Creation
Write, edit, and update content for IDRS marketing materials by working with the Executive Committee in developing stories. Compile and edit content for the IDRS’s newsletter. Create visual content in support of IDRS communications (e.g. videos, photos) and execute post production image editing as needed.
