On March 20 the Berlin Philharmonic played Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet and Symphony No. 2 by Rachmaninoff in front of crowd of 1,000 people at the Philharmonie in Berlin. The event was part of a pilot project initiated by the Berlin Senate in which other Berlin cultural institutions are also participating. The aim was to test the practicability of events in conjunction with SARS-CoV-2 antigen tests and, looking ahead, to find a way to hold cultural events in front of an audience.
