Kyle Mustain, the new Principal English horn Pittsburgh Symphony, is playing Swan of Tuonela on Sunday 10/13 with the Pittsburgh Symphony. Here is a review from Friday’s concert.””“The Swan of Tuonela” provided opportunity for a fresh PSO musician, newly appointed English horn player KYLE MUSTAIN, to demonstrate a supple, gossamer sound as the voice of the swan in the realm of the dead. The strings conjured a wonderfully transparent texture, over which Mr. Mustain’s instrument floated with a keening, ethereal quality.”””
