I’m gently breaking in my new Howarth XL d’amore. As I’ve been warned the OD has some funky notes. The reeds I have were made by my oboe teacher. For the most part it plays beautifully but then there is the 2nd octave C#. It’s at least 1/2 cent sharp. No manner of adjusting my embouchure can get it in tune. I’ve been only playing 15~30 minutes a day. I’ve been doing exercises playing notes above and below and then returning to the C# to see if somehow I can land there in tune. If it is a matter of getting the “surrounding” notes to cooperate and they’re flat, I can use more air support and get them in tune. My problem is the C#, fingering E. Suggestions?
