Bio: Marc Fink (oboe), conference host for IDRS '99 Madison, also serves as president of IDRS, previously serving as its first vice-president. As a professor of music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Mr. Fink teaches oboe, coaches chamber music, and plays in the resident Wingra Woodwind Quintet. In addition, Mr. Fink is principal oboist of the Madison Symphony Orchestra. His tours internationally have taken him from the northslope of Alaska to the South Bohemia Music Festival in the Czech Republic, from the Peoples' Republic of China to Russia where he recently performed in recital and taught guest master classes at the Gnesin Academy in Moscow and the St. Petersburg Conservatory. He has performed with the Chicago Contemporary Players, the Pro Arte Quartet, the California Music Center Chamber Players, and the Indianapolis Chamber Music Society. Mr. Fink's principal teachers have been Jerry Sirucek, Ray Still, Robert Mayer and Marcel Moyce. He received his MM, BM, and Performer's Certificate from Indiana University. When not hosting conferences, Marc enjoys playing tenniand golf and relaxing with his wife Marcia and daughters Leah, Anna, and Eleanor.
