Bio: Tom Boyd (oboe) can be heard on the soundtracks of more than 400 films, including The Color Purple, Dances with Wolves, Steel Magnolias, Beauty and the Beast, and Jurassic Park. He works with some of the most respected names in the recording industry today, including John Williams, Michael Kamen, James Newton-Howard, and Randy Newman. Previously Boyd was active as a classical soloist and orchestral player, serving as principal oboist with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and performing with such conductors as Maurice Abravanel, Maxim Shostakovich, and Marcel Moyse. He was trained at the Juilliard School and the University of Southern California.
