Bio: Patricia Malone (oboe) has taught for 16 years at the University of Southern Mississippi and serves as principal oboist with the Meridian Symphony and Mobile Opera Orchestras. A founding member of the chamber ensemble Southerly Winds, she has performed with the Mississippi, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Pensacola, and Savannah Symphony Orchestras and has served as English hornist with the Florida Gulf Coast Symphony. Malone has given a solo recital at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, and chamber music recitals in London and Paris. She has performed on recordings released by Shawnee Press and has recorded music for broadcast on Mississippi Educational Television. Formerly on the faculties of the University of South Florida and Florida State University, she holds a BM from Baylor University, MM from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and DM from Florida State University. Her teachers have included Don Baker, Doris DeLoach, Ferdinand Pryor, and Nancy Fowler.
