First Name: Gordon
Last Name: Schoneberg
Bio: Gordon Schoneberg (oboe) was born in Chicago, Illinois and came to California with his family when he was nine years old. He attended Beverly Hills High School where he played the clarinet and later the oboe. The oboe was a challenge, and it was then that he became seriously interested in being a professional musician. He studied with such fine teachers as Henri De Busscher and Alex Duvoir, a member of the Peter Meremblum's Orchestra. He also attended the University of California where he majored in music. When Leopold Stokowski was organizing a youth orchestra, Gordon was selected as first oboist. He performed with the Kansas City Orchestra, the NBC Staff Orchestra, Paul Whiteman Hall of Fame Orchestra, the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra, symphony orchestras, radio, TV, and free-lanced in the motion pictures. For more than forty years he was first oboist at Walt Disney Studios.
