Baylor University announces the position of Professor of Bassoon, an appointment that begins in August of 2010. This person will be responsible for teaching applied bassoon, recruiting and maintaining a quality studio of undergraduate and graduate bassoon majors, teaching bassoon methods and woodwind literature, coaching woodwind chamber music, maintaining an active performance profile, and collaborating regularly with colleagues in faculty ensembles. Qualifications include a distinguished record of teaching and performance. Interest in administrative duties is desirable, and preference will be given to an individual who can be appointed at the rank of Full or Associate Professor. A master’s degree is required, but a doctorate is preferred. Rank is open for this tenure-track position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
