Teaching Extended Techniques to the Intermediate Player
What is an “extended technique”? When are students ready to learn them? What is the best way to teach them? Join oboist and composer Laura Adkins for an overview of pedagogy for common extended techniques. This livestream presentation is geared towards teachers with intermediate and early-advanced students, but is open to all oboists with any level of experience with extended techniques. The presentation will include demonstrations of these techniques, as well as a preview of Adkins’ first draft of her extended techniques method book.
