Disclamer: I didn’t go to Curtis!

    Dear Curtis alumni,

A Wayfarer’s Journey: Listening to Mahler, a film by Curtis alumna Ruth Drazen featuring the Curtis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Christoph Eschenbach, will air on public television stations across the country beginning on Thursday, April 5. It includes rehearsal footage of our orchestra and Maestro Eschenbach playing Mahler’s First Symphony, as well as interviews with Mr. Eschenbach and several Curtis students about the relation between music and healing through the works of Gust av Mahler.

The film is a great preview of how beautifully our Curtis Symphony Orchestra plays under Maestro Eschenbach, and we hope that many alumni will be able to join us to hear them live either April 29 at Verizon Hall in Philadelphia or May 2 at Carnegie Hall in New York. For information on how to obtain tickets to either performance, you may contact me directly.

And feel free to spread the word about Ruth’s film to your friends. Here are air times in a few major markets (be sure to check local listings).

Philadelphia (WHYY) on 4/5 at 10 pm

New York (WNET) on 4/5 at 10 pm

LA (KCET) on 4/5 at 10:30

Boston (WGBH) 4/5 at 10:00 pm and 4/6 at 2 am

San Francisco (KQED) 4/8 at 12 pm
