Richard Plaster Reed Collection 74
Reed Number:74
Year:
Measurements:
Description:One of the last Prestini tips was only .352 wide, and it was the most succesful in producing an LM type reed. In fact, the butt or tube part seems to be narrower and therefore better than the Heckel LM tip, which flares too much. This reed was easy blowing and secure, not balky. I think I used it in small orchestra for the Strauss Bourgeois Gentilhomme TV tape. The pitch was good, contrasted to the flatness of many reeds that play well in the low register.
