Inspired by jazz great, Thelonious Monk, I commissioned “Monk’s Oboe” for oboe and string quartet in 2013, and subsequently premiered and recorded it with the Blair String Quartet. Song Without Words is inspired by e.e. cummings’ poem, “I Have Found What You Are Like.” This work was premiered by myself and Caleb Harris (piano) October 22, 2020.
